Texas Hold-Em is a community card poker game that is played with a standard 52-card deck. The game starts to the left of the dealer button. The blind bet(s) are made from the position(s) left of the dealer button and are forced bets which must be made before the cards are dealt. Two cards (hole cards) are dealt to each player, one at a time, face down, in rotation. This is followed by the first round of betting. A player(s) may check, bet, call, raise or fold.

Three cards (the flop) are then dealt face up in the middle of the table as community cards (board cards) and the second round of betting occurs. The fourth community card is dealt face up (the turn), followed by the third round of betting. The final community card (the river) is dealt face up and followed by the fourth (final) round of betting.

At the showdown, each player may use any combination of the hole cards and community cards, or may play the board and use no hole cards to make the highest ranking five-card poker hand. The player with the highest ranking five-card poker hand wins the pot. In the event of a tie, the pot is split equally.

Rules for No-Limit Hold-Em

1. One Player per Hand Only
2. Players are never to discuss a hand during the play of the hand. This includes statements like, “ I should have called,” “ I would have made the nuts,” “ The flush got there, etc.” etc. Players must remember that others are still playing and any information given is unfair and bad for the integrity of the game
3. Players are NEVER to show cards during the play of a hand. This includes heads up action.
4. Any raise must equal the amount of the bet or previous raise
5. Unless a player verbally declares a raise before putting a chip in the pot, a single chip will be ruled as a call only. This includes all blind positions, i.e. the small blind has two one dollar chips posted, and then puts in one five dollar chip. This is a call only and can not be considered a raise.
6. All verbal declarations in turn are considered action, and binding.
7. Action in turn will be strictly enforced. The floor person will be called any time that a player acts out of turn. This includes getting up from the table and walking away from their hand before it is your turn to act.
8. Criticism of other players is never allowed.
9. Players are allowed to call in and have their name put on the list one half hour before their arrival. The floor person will confirm with them what time the clock on the floor reads, if the player does not arrive in one half hour, their name will be crossed off the list. A player can not call back and keep their spot on the list under any circumstances. A seat in the game will never be locked for a player who is not in the building. This is a courtesy for no-limit game only.

These rules will be STRICTLY ENFORCED for the security and integrity of the game. This will protect all players equally and ensure a fair game for all.
